Ironbarrow: a free browser strategy game
Build a walled city, raise an army and take your place on one shared world map. Your city keeps working while you are away. No download needed, and it works on a phone.
Play Ironbarrow free or try Barrowlands, our relaxed idle skilling game.

- Found your city: pick a class and a spot on the map, and a short guide walks you through the first upgrades.
- Watch it grow: early upgrades finish in moments. Put workers on wood, stone, iron and food, then train your first soldiers.
- Close the tab: production, building and training keep running on the server clock.
- Come back to full storehouses, finished walls and a report of every fight, then join an alliance and send an army out.

Questions
Is Ironbarrow free to play?
Yes. Four classes are free to everyone, and you can play the whole game without paying. Dragonborn and the Undead Legion are optional supporter classes.
Do I need to download anything?
No. It runs in your browser on a computer, tablet or phone. Create an account, found a city and you are playing in about a minute.
What happens when I close the game?
Your city keeps working. Production, construction, training and marches run on the server clock, so an hour away is an hour of progress.
How long does it take to get going?
About a minute to found your city. Early upgrades finish in moments, later ones take minutes and then hours, which is what makes it a game you can check on a few times a day.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Alliances hold up to 1,000 members with a shared treasury, shared buildings, territory and rally attacks. There is world chat, alliance chat and private whispers too, and a Discord for the community.
Do I have to fight other players?
You can attack other players on the shared map, but you can also grow at your own pace by clearing barbarian camps, trading and building up your city.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The whole game fits a phone screen, with a bottom bar for the map, your city, the military and quests.
What is the difference between the classes?
Your class sets your troops, your bonuses and how your cities look. Kingdom is balanced and forgiving, Northmen raid, the Sultanate trades, the Wardens defend. You can switch class once a day.
