The Ironbarrow market: how to trade wood, stone, iron and food

A guide to the player-run market in Ironbarrow: buy and sell orders, price charts, what you can trade and how to turn a surplus into gold.

· 2 min read

The Ironbarrow market is run by players, not by a shop. Prices come from real orders, so a good trader can turn a surplus into steady gold. This guide shows how it works.

What you can trade

You buy and sell for gold. The market covers:

  • Resources: wood, stone, iron and food
  • Trophies and Forge Shards
  • Premium Keys and Gems
  • Hero gear and hero items, which have their own sections

How orders work

Place a buy order or a sell order at the price you want:

  • If someone already offers your price, the trade happens at once.
  • Otherwise your order waits in the order book for 3 days until someone agrees.

Goods and gold are held while an order is open and returned to you if you cancel. The buttons Outbid +1% and Undercut −1% help you nudge your price past the competition. Whoever offers the better price trades first.

Read the price chart

Each good has a price chart with a 6 hour, 24 hour and 7 day view. It shows the last price, the best buy and sell offers, the spread and the volume. A wide spread is a chance: place an order inside it and you may fill quickly.

Build the Market building

Build and upgrade the Market in your city. Every level adds tax gold per citizen per tick and lets you ship bigger convoys.

Simple ways to earn

  1. Sell your surplus. If a resource is nearly full, selling it is better than wasting production when storage is full.
  2. Buy what you lack. If your region is rich in wood but short of iron, buy iron instead of waiting.
  3. Watch the spread. Buy a little under the market and sell a little over.
  4. Sell gear and hero items you do not need. Our hero guide shows where they come from.

Classes that love trading

The Sand Sultanate gets +28% gold, which makes it a natural trader. Read the class guide to compare.
