The Halloween event is here. Every year from 15 October to 3 November the Ironbarrow Shop gets a spooky shelf with chat icons, profile backgrounds and hero outfits that you can only buy while the event is on. This post lists everything in it, so you can plan your Gems.

Dates and how it works

The event opens at midnight (UTC) on 15 October and closes at the very end of 3 November. A countdown at the top of the Halloween shelf shows how long is left, and it turns red in the last three days.

When the event is over, the items leave the Shop until next year. Everything you buy is yours to keep. You can show a Halloween icon or background all year round, and you can switch back to your old ones whenever you like.

The 8 Halloween chat icons

Chat icons show as your avatar next to your messages in World and Alliance chat, and as your emblem on your profile. You can own many and show one at a time.

IconWhat it isPrice in Gems
Candy CornA pile of sweets990
Jack-o'-LanternA glowing carved pumpkin1,490
Friendly GhostA smiling little ghost1,490
Witch's HatA purple, bent witch hat1,990
Bubbling CauldronA cauldron of green potion1,990
Midnight CatA black cat under the moon2,990
Vampire's RestA coffin with a red bat2,990
Reaper's ScytheA scythe with a green glow3,990

The 4 Halloween profile backgrounds

Backgrounds are the picture behind your hero on your profile, which other players see when they open it from the map, the rankings or chat.

  • Pumpkin Patch (1,990 Gems): rows of glowing lanterns and a scarecrow under the harvest moon.
  • Haunted Hollow (2,990 Gems): a crooked house on a hill, with ghosts in the mist.
  • Moonlit Graveyard (3,990 Gems): bats crossing a giant moon above the old tombstones.
  • The Witching Hour (5,990 Gems): a witch on a broomstick against a blood-red moon.

The 2 Halloween hero outfits

Outfits (we call them Regalia) change how your hero looks on your profile and on the Hero page. Each one comes with its own weapon. Your gear still gives all the stats: an outfit only changes the look. You can read more in the hero guide.

  • Vampire Lord (3,990 Gems): a black velvet coat, a tall crimson-lined cape and a slim silver rapier.
  • The Reaper (4,990 Gems): a tattered black robe, bone shoulder plates, green wisps at the hem and a long scythe.

Like the icons and backgrounds, they leave the Shop on 3 November, and the ones you bought are yours to keep.

All of them are hand-made pixel art, like everything else in the game.

How to get the Gems

Gems are the premium currency, and 1,000 Gems is worth one euro. You can top up with a card in the Shop, and the bigger packs come with bonus Gems. Players also earn Gems by inviting friends: when someone who joined through your link reaches player level 100, you get 50 Premium Gems. Read more about the game's market and economy if you like trading.

Our tips

  1. Buy early if you want it. The event is long, but the shelf disappears on 3 November and not a minute later.
  2. Pair an icon with a background. A Midnight Cat next to the Moonlit Graveyard looks great on a profile.
  3. Add an outfit. The Vampire Lord in front of the Moonlit Graveyard is the full Halloween look.
  4. Show them off. Your icon is in front of everyone in chat, and your background and outfit are on your profile.
