The Tavern guide: Tavern Tokens, Dragon Crash and coin flips

The Tavern is the place to spend a few minutes of fun with your spare gold. It has two games, Dragon Crash and coin flips, and both are played with Tavern Tokens. This guide explains how everything works, including the odds, so you know exactly what you are playing.

Tavern Tokens

You buy Tavern Tokens with gold from your capital, at 100 gold per token. You can sell them back for 95 gold each, a little less than you paid. Tokens cannot be bought with Gems or real money, and they are only good for gold. That keeps the Tavern a game of gold and nothing else.

Dragon Crash

Crash is a game of nerve. A multiplier starts at 1x and climbs, doubling about every 8 seconds, and at some unknown moment the dragon falls and it crashes. Place your bet before the round starts, then cash out before the crash to win your bet times the multiplier. If you are still in when it crashes, you lose the bet.

• You can set an automatic cash-out to a multiplier you pick, so you do not have to be quick.
• The game is built so that, over time, it pays back about 97% of what is bet.
• Online, rounds are played together with other players, with a short betting window and a pause after each crash.
• Bets go from 1 token up to 1,000,000 tokens, and the biggest allowed bet is also limited by the size of the shared crash wallet.

Coin flips

A coin flip is a challenge between two players. You pick a side, Crown or Shield, and put your tokens in a pot, and another player can take the other side. The winner takes the pot and the house keeps 5%. You can have up to 3 open challenges at once, and an unanswered one expires after 24 hours and returns your tokens.

Tips in chat

You can give Tavern Tokens to another player from chat, for example when they help you. Type /tip Name 100 or press Tip on a message. A tip can be from 1 up to 1,000,000 tokens, and it is shown in the chat so everybody can say thank you. More about chat is in the alliance guide.

The Tavern rankings

The Tavern has its own group of rankings: most wagered, biggest win, best win streak and more. It is a fun race, even if you never win a single coin flip.

Play wisely

Only stake what you are happy to lose. The Tavern is for fun, and gold is better spent on upgrades if you are short. If you want a steadier way to turn extra resources into gold, try the player market.
